According to Yahoo, the RNC is picking up a young face to challenge Obama in 2012, and his name is Bobby Jindal.
I personally am not a fan of politicians, but I am a fan of Jindal's. Ever since he took office as Governor of a Katrina-struck Louisiana, he has cleaned things up a bit, a lot better than Kathleen Blanco can ever say. When Gustav proposed a threat to New Orleans, he forced everyone in town to leave and even offered buses out so that when Gustav hit New Orleans, no one was injured.
Bobby Jindal, 37, is an Indian American, came from Indian parents, both Hindu, but he is a Roman Catholic and a very strong conservative. He has proven himself a strong and capable leader. When he was the head of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, he cleaned out a $400 billion dollar defecit in two years.
Jindal, however, has his eyes on regaining the Governor's chair in 2011. And I honestly don't blame him. He is so far doing very well as Governor. I believe more years would make him indestructible should he run for president.
I honestly believe that he would do very well as a vice presidential candidate. As a matter of fact, I think that a Palin/Jindal ticket would be the best thing ever. With what he is doing in Louisiana, I am not surprised that the Republican Party is looking at him as if he is the new hope of the party.
But, like I said, I don't blame him for focusing on regaining Louisiana.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. I like Bobby Jindal. But I think it's way too early to get wrapped up in who our nominee will be FOUR YEARS from now.
The Republican Party needs a coherent message, conservative walk (not just conservative talk), and we cannot look past 2010 and taking back one or both houses in Congress.
Back in 2005 I was pulling for George Allen to be our candidate. Then he lost re-election to the Senate in 2006. So much for that. A lot can happen in four years, even two years.
We need to focus on conservative principles and issues. Anything else right now is only a distraction.
I'd even argue that focusing on presidential so early this last cycle partly got us into this mess. Do you think there were a lot of people who signed on with a candidate early on before other, better candidates got in and they wish they hadn't committed so early? I do.
I honestly believe that Jindal has a good intention to focus on regaining the Louisiana gubernational ticket. It's what he wants. I'm just restating what Yahoo! said.
Jindal is a great guy. If he were to run for president, he'd be strong. But I am absolutely more than fine with him running for a second term as governor.
